Dr. Easton believes that optimization should be applied in people's lives. Since his job has a heavy teaching component, he has focused some effort on optimizing his teaching techniques. These efforts resulted in a new active learning teaching style called Lecture Based Tutoring. This teaching method is extremely effective and Kansas State University honored him with the rare University Distinguished Teaching Scholar title.
